Yes, it is possible. I've seen it, more than once in my practice. Usually the third testicle is much smaller than the other two and non-functioning. You can have more of just about any organ...when you do, the "extra" organ is called a supernumary _________(insert organ name here).

I once read that a man did have 3 testicles but one didn't produce sperm.

Embrologically,it is normal to have 2 testicles.But developmental abnormalities mainly chromosomal, can lead to extra nonfunctional organs

Yes. It is very rare but it has happened. However, the extra testical ussually won't work. It simply takes up space.
