If you mean the BBC television show "Bless Me, Father", it was based on the book "A Father before Christmas" by Neil Boyd, which was actually a pen name for the author Peter de Rosa, who wrote four books about priestly life which were based on his experiences and used to shape the TV series.

He had been a curate in the Catholic Church (which is why one of the characters in the show uses his pen name). That's about all the information I could find on him thus far-- what a hard to track down fellow!
