If you could be a vampire, would you be one?

Of course. I've dreamed about that before and would love to. The chance to live forever, and pretty much do whatever you want. The killing to me would be justified. A vampire is up a notch on the food chain, killing a human for food would be no different than killing an animal for food.

Yes. I know seems a little weird but i would love to be a tempting seductress. I would love to have the coppery taste of a mans blood rolling over my tongue after having reached orgasmic levels. The downfall.....watching the people i love die and never seeing another sunrise. I enjoy the light of the moon over the harshness of the sun anyway. To live forever and love whom and where i please with hardly a consequence. If i so chose i could make a consort. If i felt the soul bond i could make her or him my eternity. mmmmmm, alas it is just a fantasy.

The word 'vampire' derives from the Slavic word 'vampir' or 'vampyr', first appearing in the 1600s in the Eastern European region in the Balkans. Many scholars have attempted to explain the vampire's appeal in psychological terms literary scholar James Twitchell claims that psychoanalytically speaking, the vampire image is so popular because it represents a "complete condensation of problems and resolutions of preadolescence." He claims that children must deal with first time feelings of sexual energy and hostility, and that the vampire image acts out these situations, through its blood sucking and preying on the living. There are many reasons that vampires are so popular. The vampire has the appeal of immortality, which has been a goal of man for ages. Men built the pyramids in an attempt to gain immortality, yet it comes naturally to vampires. Vampires have the appeal of power over others, which is very alluring to someone who feels that they have no power of their own. Finally and most importantly, vampires have a sexual appeal. This sexual appeal ranges from the more normal (dominance, charming, and innuendo of oral sex) to the strange (blood fetishes, sadomasochism, and necrophilia).

'vampir' is derived from 'upir', which first appeared in print in an Old Russian manuscript from 1047 AC in which a Novgorodian prince is referred to as 'Upir Lichyj' (Wicked Vampire).

Bearing all that in mind, and that I would have to watch every one I love die, no I don't think I would.

I would have to say no. I would not choose to be a vampire. There is little point in studying people if your only thought would be food.

No. Vampires are ordinary people who need the energy from blood or pranic energy. They live their lives just as everyone else and it just isn't as good as movies and books make it seem.

I don;t know. I mean I guess the whole never dying thing would be interesting however it would be suck when all your friends and family are dead and you're still truckin. I don't think I would like to be one, blood freaks me out too bad. Although, I do love running around the neighborhood at night...hhmmmm..... let me get back to you on that one.

I don't know. I don't want to spend eternity in dark, alone, hunted. But on the other hand, hunt can be very exciting and I can imagine thrill when you catch something. Bite it. Warm blood starts to flow down your lips mmm

If it meant I could keep learning. Yes, I would love to live forever, even if it meant sucking a few people dry.

I don't think so (even though the perks are rather nice). I'm too fond of the sun..besides, I'd get fat feeding off the blood of the evil-doers...there's so many of them recently!!!

No, I would never want to be something that would cause me to kill others.
I also would not want to be immortal, it would be hell to see those you love age and die over and over again. It would be an endless cycle of making friends and then losing them to old age, accidents and disease.
