there are a ton of them. If you want something natural, non-toxic, go to a health food store and buy Lice Stop. Its a kit that comes with the comb. Its tea tree oil based.

Back to school time, I'm sure a lot of us will be dealing with this very soon.

PS - O Wise one isn't very wise or he'd know that lice prefer clean hair. Maybe that's why he hasn't got them. JERK.

I hate to even admit this but when I was 8 yrs old my mom and I lived in India and I got them from the other kids that I played with. Of course there they don't have those shampoos that you can buy here in the US so my mom used lemon juice on me. I have never heard of using mayo though. Hope this helps. I would call a couple of health food stores they usually know a lot of home remedies that are very helpful. Good Luck!

Why go thru all that? Just go to the pharmacy, get some lice shampoo, and follow the directions. It's not that expensive, just a couple of bucks. The directions include washing all clothes and bedding in hot water, and a second shampoo treatment a week after the first.

Love, Jack.

Why try to go the natural way and risk infecting others, suffering more, and getting an infection, when proven methods are readily available? The only good natural remedy is to shave the head (shave like bald) as every other method will likely keep the eggs alive and they'll be back very soon after you dropped eggs everywhere.

Start by covering their heads with Mayo and then put a shower cap on and leave over night. Then in the morning rinse out with half vinigar and water. Then once a wk rinse their hair in vinigar and water it will keep the lice away and will not hurt your child.

Yes, I would say Mayo, or vegetable oil or olive oil. Put a shower cap on and leave on all night. Or try Dawn dish soap, don't leave on all night, just wash hair with it. Coconut shampoo is good too. Be sure to comb out all the nits, too. Wash all sheets and pillow cases and vacuum whole house.

Buy the kit. Believe or not, it is all natural. The active ingredient comes from Chrysanthemums. (The common mum plant)
