I stopped taking my birth control (Sprintec) in April. My husband and I have been trying to conceive since then with no luck. We have a 4 year old son together. I have an ovulation calender. When it says I am ovulating thats when we have sex. Does anyone have any suggestions? Only serious answers please.

You should have sex before, during, and after ovulation.

And yes, I'm serious.

I'm in the same boat as you, but I was on the pill for 6 years and so far I've had 3 periods, but I don't think I'm ovulating at all. I was told to try Basal Body Temping to see if you could possibly be ovulating. So that's what I'm going to try this month. They say to give your body at least 3 months to start producing it's hormones on it's own again. Keep trying, but keep in mind that it might take some time. As for the ones that get pregnant right off the pill, they must be super fertile, but not everyone is like that. Good luck trying to conceive baby #2. We're trying for #1 and we're on month 4, so lets hope for the best!!

Take up a hobby that will take your mind off of 'it' and it will happen in due course. You are the most fertile 6 months to a year after going off the pill, but remember even in perfect conditions, there is only a 25% chance of fertilization and then another 25% chance of implantation!! Like the comment below, have sex on the 12, 13, 14 and 15th day after you start your period. I've always heard that couples that have problems conceiving go through years of all the in-vitro and what not. Then they give up and BAM! - they get pregnant....It's all about the stress and worry of wanting to get pregnant (for the second time in your case). I went off the pill last month and have taken up violin lessons and am taking a continuing-ed class one day a week to keep my mind off of it.

I was on birth control for 12 years. Took me 4 months to get pregnant, thought it would be alot longer. I didn't stress myself worrying about when ovulation was happening. We just had sex when we wanted. I also have a tilted Uterus so it was helpful to have a pillow under me to prop my butt up. Sounds strange, but it worked. Dr. may also be able to help. I know alot of our patients stress themselves out with the calendars and thermometers for when they are ovulating. After they have decided to quit stressing about that, is when it usually just happens on its own.

It quite varies between women and BC - like each and every thing interior the female reproductive cycle. some women take some months to fall pregnant after coming off birth control - others locate they quite change into quite fertile once they arrive off it. undergo in recommendations, too, that you in worry-free words have a 20% probability of being pregnant each and each month. i in my opinion fell pregnant interior per week of coming off birth control pills.

Keep trying. It may take awhile. Seriously, have lots of sex. I'm not joking. I have a 10 month old to prove it.

I am in the same boat as you. For some odd reason it just hasn't happened yet. I've been standing on my head after insemination....hasn't worked yet but it might work for you.
