It's common to have cramps during pregnancy, similar to period cramping, especially early on. If the cramps are causing more than mild discomfort, it could be a sign of complications. Please call your doctor to be sure.

First thing I would ask is how far along are you? Then there are several types of "cramps and cramp like feelings". There is a mild cramp that happens early on that is usually your uterus growing and changing (without any bleeding), and then there is that weird ligament pain that you get the further along you get. I have that one all the time and I had the earlier cramps too. I would tell my doctor all the time about it and they told me as long as there was no bleeding and contractions then it was normal. But make sure you let your doctor know all the time about your concerns that way you will feel more and more comfortable through the pregnancy.

I wouldn't worry. Early cramping in pregnancy is okay, as long as it is not accompanied by bleeding and does not escalate into sharp pains. I had cramping with both of my pregnancies and many doctors attribute this to implantation the growth of the uterus. You're muscles are beginning to be pulled and stretched, so this is just the beginning.

A warm bath may help a bit.

As your pregnancy progresses, you'll notice sharper pains and frequent dull aches, which is due to round ligament pain. Your body will be stretching to accomdate the baby and sometimes it not very comfortable at all. Hope this helps and feel better!
