there are a few things that u shuld follow to protect your id
first of all make an uncrackable id
remember your essential login details such as date of birth date secret question and make sure to give your altentate email adress to yahoo to retireve your password easily
u shuld have an updated antivirus or antikeylogger/antitrojan program in your computer run a full system scan once in a week
then u shuldnt accept files from other buddies through yahoo answers becos some of them may attach a keylogger with them. keylogger is aprogram which records all your keystrokes on the installed computer and sends these keystroks as email file to the hacker
lastly you shuld recognize fake login scripts and dont respond to the emails send by unknown people

choose not to save it on the machine when u log into yahoo. choose the secure connection on the page to gain access to the parts of yahoo leave remeber password unticked
have a good password a mix of numbers and letters.
thats the best way to make sure.

un-tick the box remember my id & password befor you login too yahoo messenger never give your password out to any one protect at all times if any of your family ask to use your yahoo id tell them to go get there own id

Just don't give it out. Also pick a password that no one would know. Like ask yourself a question that nobody would know the answer to but you.

select 32 from the drop down menu here and click generate button. it wil make you a 32 character long password using small and large letters and numbers that will be difficult to crack

make sure you have these things in it
1.atleast one caps alphabet(preferebly first one--for ease)
2.atleast two numbers.
3.use @ in place of 'a',1 in place 'i',$ in place of 's' etc
4. use _or - like that
with these in place even if you use your name it's difficult to crack.
