Contrary to the "wise" comments from the likes of "Philipharry2000" you do not need to enter the "http://" before a link for it to highlight.
You can either copy and paste a link then hit space bar or just type it, whether it shows up as a link to you or not it will show up as a link to the receiver.
To check, just open the sent e-mail. If it is going to be highlighted it will be in here.
