Remember that November's election is next month, so you have to have an opinion on this! President Bush CAN NOT countinue this campain on his own. Think about this and where your congressional representive stands on the issue and VOTE. Do not let politics deside where you STAND on the issue. I will keep my feelings to myself for now.

Good! I am glad I got some varied responses so people are thinking about this. I am going to let this go to a vote for, "Best Answer" as I think this is one of the many important questions that this country is facing.

Yes
Bush said 'Mission acomplished'.
Iraq has a government.
Iraq has a constitution.
Iraq has an elected president.
Iraq has elected officials.
Iraq has a police force.
We are done.
We need to let them work out the rest.

Absolutely.
But to ignore the rest of a candidate's platform is a huge mistake. Sure, when a candidate announces that they'll "stand up to President Bush" they have my attention, but that doesn't mean they have my vote. I want our troops out, I want my brother to come home safe, I don't think another american life should be given for a war that was engaged while prez's true intent wasn't brought to light.

Yes, just as soon as Iraq becomes a unified nation with an active and fully functioning government.
At that point it makes good sense that all of the foreign troops should leave and let Iraq run its own affairs.

This issue has nothing to do with partisan politics, except that both parties are making it a political issue.
We can't withdraw troops until Iraq can defend itself. Anything less is to abandon the Iraqi people. Right or wrong, we started this civil war in their country, and we owe it to them to leave them as secure as we can.

Politics aside, I don't think it would be a good idea for the troops to come home. I still feel scarred when I think about other Countries and how the Americans are on the top of the destroy list. On the other hand the troops could come home because our enemy is already in this Country.

Yes, it is time to bring the Troops back. They should have never been there in the first place. However, they are, so they should have brought them back when Bush stated "mission accomplished". The troops will return a few months before the next presidential race.

NO:If we bring our troops home then the many who gave their life will have died in vain.We have to make sure that Iraq can stand alone without my grandson holding their hand.We are not cowards we CAN NOT cut and run.I do not agree with the war or Bushes reasons for it.The elections have nothing to do with the way I feel about it.My grandson is in Iraq as we speak but I still for the men that were before him that wont be coming home feel it would be a big mistake to pull out.

Uggg! What an awful bloody mess our President's decision has put us into. To think I voted for him the 1st time..
I just don't see us ever "winning" this war. Terrorist are embedded in almost every nation, waiting for the right time to strike.
Such a waste of human life and money.. and for what?

I think it's time for the government of Iraq to go public with whether or not they want the US there. Or better yet let the people of Iraq vote on it. Stay or go --It should NOT be the choice of the US Congress. They are too wishy washy about anything they do.

what we need to do is to offer the iraq citizens the opportunity to join the us as a state. they will still have autonomy within their own borders but will enjoy the freedoms and protections of all of our citizens.
