WHEN IN 2000, PNAC SAYS:

"the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor."

AND THEN LO AND BEHOLD 9-11 (A CATASTROPHIC AND CATALYZING EVENT) MAGICALLY HAPPENS 1 YEAR LATER?

THEN, AT 11:08 ON THE EVENING OF SEPTEMBER 11,2001, BUSH WRITES IN HIS DIARY:
"The Pearl Harbor of the 21st century took place today."

WOW!! You sure are a bunch of dumbed down idiots who are willing to overlook the link i provided where in 2000 PNAC published their need for a New Pearl Harbor" to achieve their agenda. You're also too stupid to realize that over half of the Bush administration are members of PNAC.

9-11 is the best thing that ever happened to the Republican party, and it all could have been prevented by the same people who ride it's coattails to glory.

It's a tragedy many times over!

I think the 'fool' would be one who believes the transformational process WOULDN'T be long and cumbersome, even in the case of a catastrophic event taking place.

Pearl Harbor was an attack on a military target, 1000's of miles away from Washington DC, or even mainland U.S. It wasn't even a state. The civilian population was minute compared to NYC or DC or even the fields of Pennsylvania.

The Japanese ambassador or other emissary was present in DC at the time of the attack, and though it did provide opportunity for FDR to 'declare war' against Japan and subsequently the Axis, the U.S. was OPENLY supporting Brits and French with everything BUT active forces. This was an opportunity to formally enter the war.

As for the events of September 11, 2001, these events were hardly pre-ordained due to some calculated slip-up in airport security or intelligence or other act of covert government complicity. Read the whole Post article. I don't think anyone in the White House or the President himself felt this was 'de rigeur' and a known casualty waiting to take place, otherwise there wouldn't have been such outright confusion as to mobility of the President or what he was going to say, when and to whom.

Whatever it was, extremist Islam was at the heart of the attack....the planning, the execution, the accountability, all resonate from Afghanistan. And that's where we're squeezing the vise.

To belittle the tragedy by providing far-fetched discourse suggesting the event was planned and integral to a new neocon war on non-Christians is absolutely absurd. Foolish, to use your words. The PNAC literature you refer to is more a stance against an old enemy, whose resources and will have been strengthened by both our inability to give up oil dependence, and our ability to continue to look the other way and interest ourselves more in comfort than calculated and vociferous defense of our nation. At times, in every nation, the will and fortitude of individuals and constitutions are tested. You hope for and work for the best outcome, but during the struggle, during the defense, survival is primary and imperative. EVERYTHING else, yes EVERYTHING else, takes a back seat, as should your musings on how our whole war on terror and extremism is really a fabrication of a long-held strategy by neocons bent on undermining constitutional democracy.

Now, 'tis your turn to stop being the fool.

you convinced me now , i had no idea bush compared pearl harbor to 9/11 , that is all the evidence i need . thank you for showing me the hard facts

so what have we learned

1. 9/11 was a catastrophic event
2. it was compared to another catastrophic event
3. bush acknowledged it was a catastrophic event

again , thanks for solving the case

I love a conspiracy theory as much as the next person. But until you can produce one that addresses the issues with facts and evidence instead of inuendo, rumor and unverifiable "experts", those theories will remain just theories.

Posting your list of "proof" to every conspiracy question is meaningless because it provides no evidence. I hope you'll pardon me, but just because you write it doesn't make it true.
