I clean with bleach all the time. I just make sure that it is well ventilated and that I take my time. I do a little here and a little there. I haven't even used gloves. Most of the time it is not pure bleach either but I would think that most cleaning products are okay as long as you are okay with them. I think it is your choice what you want to do. The only thing that I have ever been told is to make sure that you are well ventilated so that you are not breathing in lots of fumes. That is why they tell you to be careful around paint, but I haven't heard of any cleaners that are really bad.

Using any harsh chemical during pregnancy is not a good idea, if someone else can do the cleaning for you - take a break for a few months until the baby is born. It is a small price to pay for a healthy baby.
Also, remember if you have a cat, never clean the litter box yourself -- someone should always do this until you are done breast feeding.

no do not use bleach or products with bleach, if you are unsure and you feel that it is necessary to talk with your doctor and ask what are the harms to your baby. every pregnancy is different. he may tell you its okay as long as you wear a mask and gloves but i would talk with your doctor

I have never heard anything about not being able to clean the house while preg. This is a new one on me.
I do agree with the person about the cat box tho that was by order of my doctor to avoid cats and their litter box.

I used bleach while pregnant, although I opened a window and took a few breaks while cleaning, It didn't seem have any side effects on my son.

Bleach breaks down to common salt. On its own it is stinky but harmless. When it mixes with other chemicals (ammonia) it can be toxic.
