I don't think anyone really knows. There are various theories. From what i have read, people can make them with wooden planks, but it takes them a lot of time, and they break the plants. It seems that the "real" crop circles appear in a very short period of time, and that the plants present some sort of chemical change in their structure, and are bent, rather than broken. Soooo....i think they're made by some sort of flying saucer...not necessarily aliens though.

They showed it on tv. They had put a rope to create a center then had wooden planks under their feet, so they wouldn't brake only flatten the crop, They made the most amazing figures that simple!!

It seriously depends on the crop circle.
Some people have been known to use small tractors
Some use boards.
There is really a lot of ways that it can be done, including aliens

There are differing opinions. Some people think aliens make them. Others think they are made by students with nothing better to do. These sites give a bit of an overview of opinions. I hope this helps.

They create the out line with ropes, Then attach boards to their feet, And walk in the same direction. For the burnt effects propane tanks.

they are easy to spot as they usualy wear star trek security sweaters, psychodelic trousers and boots with no laces in.
