I just saw a special on History Channel on the Pacific "Dragon's Triangle".

I think they are in there. It causes compasses to go crazy and
There are tons more disappearances attributed to it than the "Bermuda Triangle". There is a lot of volcanism going on in there all the time(because it's in the "ring of fire". So Islands could develop any time!

Many Japanese think that there are UFOs And USOs in that area
and that it may be that Alien spaceships are based below the surface out there. Do the Japanese have a history of drug use?

That foot is a remnant of the "Colossus of Rhodes". It is one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. I believe they opened up a tear in dimensional space, and everything around it is stuck at this time. You come in and you never leave. The numbers were entered to hold the tear closed. They may have been elements, or maybe something else. Hanso wants to have access to the tear inorder to dictate the past, present and future. The "smoke" is an otherworldly gatekeeper wanting to keep our inhabitants away and not screwing everything up. Hanso is using these people to learn more about the surroundings of the tear and the effects of messing with the tear. It is all based on the Philadelphia Experiment, which they are trying to figure out.

That, and maybe they are all in purgatory, or this is all in Hurleys head.

I think they are in purgatory. They died in the crash, but have not moved on to the next stage yet, because each one of the characters has yet to be redeemed and reach enlightenment. They must go through the experiences on the island before they can finally attain that because of what they did in their lives and the decisions they made.

1. The more puzzled we are, the more we will want to tune in and watch it again and again.

2. The writers have no idea how to sustain that idea for long, since they are just as puzzled as we are.

3. See 1.

At first I thought that they were all dead and just didn't know it. But then the writers changed and now I'm confused.

I love the show, but I hope they end it soon.

my theory is plain and simple: it's one of the best series with all the adventure and drama. they're dragging it but that's ok too.
