Since the war on terror was initiated, have you been checking your rear view mirror to make sure no one is following you? Have you used different routes to throw the terrorist off? Have you looked at your neighbors to make sure they aren't doing anything suspicious? Do you weave side to side when you walk and make unpredictable turns to throw terrorists off?

Run in circles and scream "It's red, it's red, run for your life the damn thing went red!". I drive 30 miles out of my way when I go home just to throw of the terrorists who are always following me because they don't know what else to do. Just yesterday someone had the nerve to drive behind me so I pulled over and grabbed my pepper spray. When they drove by it was this gray haired lady with sun glasses on, definitely a terrorist. I'm glad I pulled over because she was probably about to do something terrible.

You sound paranoid. Terrorists are not going to follow ordinary people, they want to create massive destruction and mass hysteria, they do this by blowing things up, not following people around. There are those of us trained by the government to do the watching and looking for suspicious activity and you should for the most part leave it up to us. Do you know what suspicious is, would you notice if your neighbors were being suspicious? If you think so then you would have already called someone about your neighbors or you have already determined they are ok. Just live your life and vote for the people that will keep you safest. It is exactly your kind of paranoia that the terrorists are trying to achieve, don't let them win.

My understanding is that the five alert levels exist as a shorthand for law enforcement and other security types. Rather than say "OK, let's put two men at the Holland Tunnel in NYC rather than one, extend shifts for 45% of the force, etc." all they have to do is change the alert level and everyone (except the general public!!!) knows what to do.

All in all it doesn't sound like a bad idea, but it does need work.

I understand that red alert is the highest level and can't be sustained for long. It means "imminent attack," when presumably you'd call everyone in to work and throw all the resources you had at the problem.

I usually sit down to a bowl of Count Chocula and devise my plan of attack for the day. It's not a long process; maybe only 10 or 15 minutes. I like to whittle my defense down to a few household items that can be quickly reworked and combined to make a feasible disguise in case such need arises that I have to hide. (The usual components: large trash bag: cape, foil: just a styling preference, paper plate: mask, rubber-bands: tie for mask, marker: if I have to sign anything). Not sure what the odds against me are in rural mid-west, but even nil is enough to keep a girl from taking chances.

The more of your questions I read , the more I see that you consider all this a joke..! In answer to your question though, I get on with my life and figure out how long the waits going to be at the airport so I can catch my flight. I trust the President ..

LOL!!! All of the above but only to make sure feisty_redheads are not following me. :)

I really don't care about the various levels. I am not going to stop living my life because of some stupid terrorists or some stupid paranoid people who assume everything is terrorism. When it is my time to go, I go and nothing can stop that. Why worry about all the terrroism crap.

I shut Big Brother off and go on with my life. Sooner or later they may be right but it will only be by the luck of the draw. The Laws of Probability are on their side. The blind president will find his nut and the rest of the nuts will believe he is the second coming of Mars the war god. Let's drop the big one and just start over again. Rapture in living color. It's going to be so cool sitting in Hell and seeing all these holier then thou a**holes in the same line sceraming "It's a mistake, it's a mistake I'm supposed to be on the up elevator." "Up yours!"

I work half a mile from The Pentagon. Regardless of the threat level, I live my life.

The terrorists (or anyone else) can't scare me or deter me from going where I want to go, or doing what I want to do, and since they want me to be scared and intimidated, I'll be damned if I will give them the satisfaction.

Nothing in the world of Missouri has really changed. No one is worried, i haven't been able to see anywhere that has anything like... metal detectors or dogs. The only thing they do is sweep our school with a drug dog... and yes, that just started with the war on terror.
