No. The terrorists planned their strike well. Here we are five years later and the effects are still being felt.

Paranoia is an effect both of the terrorist strikes. Quite possibly a symptom of PTSD induced by the acts.

Terrorists know that their acts cause the mental disorders being observed, such as the delusional paranoia being displayed on the internet. It is not uncommon either. Everytime the Palastinian suicide bombers would strike many people believed instead of a fanatic terrorists the bombing were the results of Israeli harliners who disagreed with negotiating with the PLO or vacating occupied territories.

When France, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, or The Netherlands suffered terrorist strikes there was a wave of anti-government sentiment that felt the government didn't do enough to protect against these totally unpredictable acts. That is not uncommon from what we see here. Its just that the internet has also provided an outlet for many people to anonymously post lies and edit photots and film clips that would have been impossible in the past.

There are also a great number of paid political hacks who are spreading these rumors as part of an election year scam. They create the site, put it up and them post everywhere that they "just found it." Its disingenuous but it works on the weakminded.
