Besides pulling it obviously.
My lawn is being overtaken with crabgrass and other weeds. I have yet to find a good way to kill it so the good grass (what is left of it) can grow and fill everything back in.
Tips please!!

You don't say where you are from but if you have winters like in the northern half of the US the crabgrass will die in the winter. Crabgrass is an annual. In the spring you can put fertilizer with crabgrass preventer on your lawn and it will prevent any of the new crabgrass seed from growing. It's very effective.

If you want to kill it yet this year get MSA Crabgrass Killer by Bonide and mix and spray the crabgrass. It will kill the crabgrass without hurting the rest of the lawn.

By the way, if you wait till spring and the "crabgrass" is still there, it's not crabgrass. There are other thick bladed perennial weedy grasses that sometimes people mistake for crabgrass.

As for the broadleaf weeds just about any lawn weed killler will kill them and not harm the grass.

There are a number of products (Scott/Miracle Gro makes them too) that claim to be "crabgrass preventers". Those need to be applied in the spring (it will die in the winter, btw). To kill it, use Roundup (but that will kill regular grass too). The only way to guarantee no crabgrass is to hire professional, multi-season lawn service. They'll either use lots of chemicals (Chem Lawn) or will aerate, dethatch and overseed - all good things to promote good grass and not crabgrass. My neighbors use ChemLawn and have beautiful grass. Other folks in the neighborhood use full service lawn companies and have good results too. I can't affort it, so I'm stuck with crabgrass, just like you.

Really , I would think of pulling digging out the crabgrass then filling in the holes with a good compose. And watering the heck out of it. I personally don't believe in weed killers. Because the chemicals travel towards the good grass. Then you have dead pieces of grass.
