Iceland ACTUALLY has a low dependence on oil because they have harnessed other power sources, such as hydro-power, hydrogen and wind for most of their infrastructure needs.

if any "new" oil is available, it will be more difficult and more expensive than any previously drilled for oil. We are running out of the easily pumped reserves, and having to find technology to separate oil from shale deposits, etc. Do NOT think that "finding" oil is going to reduce prices, or significantly increase production.

Norway, however, has access to a lot of oil in the seas around the country. And they have it well regulated. Good for them.
