If you are 8 days late for your period then the level of hcg in your blood would be more than enough to be detected by any test. An inaccurate result would be virtually impossible.

If you are 8 days past your scheduled period, then it's highly unlikely that you would get a false result. Also, you didn't mention if it was positive or negative. Very rarely do hpt's give a false positive reading at anytime. If you're not satisfied, you can always have a blood test done, which will tell you for sure!

No. A bloodstream test will reveal the presence of HCG in your body. Problems can come in depending on the lab utilized, and on whether a qualitative or quantitative beta are ordered. A quantitative test will give the amount of HCG in the bloodstream. A qualitative test will give a positive or negative result to pregnancy based on detection of HCG. The amount to be positive can vary slightly from one lab to another. If you had a negative blood test, it is incredibly unlikely that you are pregnant.

Not unless you have had a miscarriage since you gave blood for the test. A urine test can give a false positive if you've had a chemical pregnancy, but pregnancy hormone leaves the blood faster than it leaves the urine.

No. If the pregnancy hormone was detected in your body by blood test then you are (or have been & just miscarried) pregnant. The odds of the test being false is like one in a trillion.

Yes. My daughter was 14 yrs old. and kept complaining with her stomach so the Dr. did a blood test to see if she was pregnant. It turned out positive. Guess what she was still a virgin. He examed her to see cause she keep telling him she had not ever had sex. We redid the blood test and then it turned up neg. . The lab had made a big mistake. So try again later.
