Yes this is why .
When you have agency's going around trying to run the world all the time you get people who sit around all day and think up ways to take over and kill the opposition or create conditions of chaos to make taking over easy or resisting unwanted change .
This is done by governments like the United States who one day love the freedom fighter and the next day want something in return and when they do not get it they become a terrorist like Bin ladin did .LIKE Saddam did like Noriega did .IT is the same all over the world in the Philippines middle east south America Africa .
No matter where we go we become central in the chaos of many nations .Drugs came from south America and for 30 years we have had a hand in the drug trade and policy of Columbia , Brazil ,Chile , Argentina , Venezuela , Panama , Mexico and several small central American nations .We will not trade with you unless you go after the drug dealers and growers . We will help you with chemicals and surveillance equipment and some armed troops to go in and destroy the labs .
Instead of asking Americans to quit using or making it legal we prefer the chaos of battle .
IT is my will verses yours and i will win no matter what .THIS is the American position abroad .
Did anyone ever consider that people choose what they put in there body and you can not stop them .
I know people of both camps and there are some who never did any drugs , some who tried them once or twice , some who experimented with them for awhile and some who use drugs all the time .
I can not convince a non drug user that the medication given out by prescription to help a migraine is the same as people who smoke a joint and cheaper .NO doctor fees . Same for some chemo treatments that pot helps with .
THESE no drug using but doctor prescribed pill popping geniuses have decided that for what ever the reason the law is the law and believe the old myths about drugs .
Taken for the right reason every drug was once prescribed by a doctor or medicine man .
What is wrong with self medication .
A line of coke before heading out for the evening or late at night to keep going .
For that matter at work or just before heading in to court for a long boring case so you look alert and attentive .
I can see many uses for drugs and it is the abuse of them that makes the rest of us forced to risk career and jail to maintain a certain persona among the masses of people .
WAS robin Williams as funny off coke .
WELL i guess we will never know for sure . It shaped his act that he has today .
WOULD the Beatles music of been the same .
What would the world be like if we had the choice and not some uptight politician and boss worried about a law suite from some druged out employee who gets injured when many people can maintain for years and years never crossing the line .

The present administration didn't give Saddam chemical weapons or the technology to build them. But that doesn't mean past administrations didn't.
And as far as funding terrorists goes. That one as a matter of prespective. To a Palestinian, Hezbollah and Hamas aren't terrorists but to many others they definitly are terrorists.
It's also who is helping accomplish your goals. When criticized about relations with Stalin, Churchill said if the Devil will fight Hitler I'll at least have a kind word in parliment for him. I didn't agree with the US backing Saddam at any time. But I can understand the motives. And it wasn't my call.
As the saying goes you lie with dogs and you wake up with fleas.

Yikes, the ignorance is astounding.
Weapons were given to Iraq in order to neutralize Iran during the long fought war.
What you are referring to regarding the communists (which I'm sure you meant to refer to the USSR properly), had to do with arming and aiding Afghanistan and the Muhajadin, of which Osama was one at the time as a youngster.
So if you are going to post asinine questions, at least get your history straight. It helps in being taken seriously.

This administration didn't give them to them. It was the Reagan administration that underwrote the war between Iraq and Iran, Then the First Bush adminstration is the one that condemed them for having them. By the time that this Bush administration was elected all of the WMD's was gone and it was just an excuse to start a war for Bush and his cronies personal gain.

Absolutely. It's pretty much the same way that cops give illegal drugs to inner city youth and then go back and arrest them later for illegal posession with the attempt to distribute. Then when the cops go bust them and they find out that the drugs are gone, the youth get hand-cuffed, they release the dogs on them, beat them down, and then charge them with resisting arrest.

In fairness they gave them conventional weapons by and large - but it still emphasises that western powers are hardly the 100% good guys in this situation.

Actually, the US alone did not give Iraq wmd. Here's where you're wrong.
Germany - German firms such as Karl Kobe helped build Iraqi chemical weapons facilities in the early 1980s. Other German firms sent 1,027 tons of precursors of mustard gas, sarin, tabun, and tear gasses in all.
France - built Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor in the late 1970s. Israel claimed that Iraq was getting close to building nuclear weapons, and so bombed it in 1981. France also provided glass-lined reactors, tanks, vessels, and columns used for the production of chemical weapons. Around 21% of Iraq’s international chemical weapon equipment was French.
Italy gave Iraq plutonium extraction facilities that advanced Iraq’s nuclear weapon program. 75,000 shells and rockets designed for chemical weapon use also came from Italy.
Swiss companies aided in Iraq’s nuclear weapons development in the form of specialized presses, milling machines, grinding machines, electrical discharge machines, and equipment for processing uranium to nuclear weapon grade.
Brazil secretly aided the Iraqi nuclear weapon program by supplying natural uranium dioxide between 1981 and 1982 without notifying the IAEA. About 100 tons of mustard gas also came from Brazil.
The United States exported $500 million of dual use exports to Iraq that were approved by the Commerce department. Among them were advanced computers. The U.S. government under Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush sold or sent biological samples to Iraq under Saddam Hussein up until 1989. Some of these materials were used for Iraq's biological weapons research program, while others were used for vaccine development.
The Dutch gave 4,261 tons of precursors for sarin, tabun, mustard, and tear gasses to Iraq.
Egypt gave 2,400 tons of tabun and sarin precursors to Iraq and 28,500 tons of weapons designed for carrying chemical munitions. India gave 2,343 tons of precursors to VX, tabun, Sarin, and mustard gasses.
Luxembourg gave Iraq 650 tons of mustard gas precursors.
Spain gave Iraq 57,500 munitions designed for carrying chemical weapons. In addition, they provided reactors, condensers, columns and tanks for Iraq’s chemical warfare program, 4.4% of the international sales.
China provided 45,000 munitions designed for chemical warfare.
Portugal provided yellowcake between 1980 and 1982.
Niger provided yellowcake in 1981
I don't post this to absolve the US, but can we finally get off the kick that the US alone gave Iraq wmd. The enemy of my enemy is my friend is never a good idea but it was policy during the Iraq - Iran war.
Also, remember Iraqs conventional forces were mostly Russian and French.
