Im with Cingular and I just want a new phone that i can move my sim card into without having to start a new plan or anything. If I go to Cingular directly, they want to charge me an arm and a leg for a new phone because I have to keep my old plan. Is there a website or anyone out there that knows where I can get an unlocked cell phone...or at least a cheaper cell phone than what Cingular wants to charge me. Im looking to get a Treo or a Blackberry...or possibly any kind of PDA phone.

Treos and other PDA phones will end up being pretty expensive unlocked. You can try ebay or overstock.com. Though the cheaper unlocked phones will not be the supercool do-it-all gadgets you may be looking for. Other thing would be find a locked GSM phone and then do the unlock code search... but this could end up being a lot of work.

I'd recommend Ebay. I bought myself a Treo 600 about a year ago on Ebay... It was unlocked and ready to be used on Cingular. Good Luck!

I dont know where you're located but just enter unlocked cellphones in a search and you will come up with connections There are many around New York city and New Jersey. Usually for people traveling to other countries where that practice is common. Switching sym cards.
