Yes he can...But not until he is a bit older.
In the meanwhile he should learn about beta testing games and software to get a better understanding of how it all works. by the time he leaves school he may have that dream job all lined up :)

Yes everyone, game testing is a legitimate job function and title...The pay is moderate to high depending on experience and efficiency.
Best of Luck with it.

"The role of the game tester in game development primarily involves analyzing video and/or computer games to document software defects as part of a quality control process. While popularized as a dream job for gamers, interactive entertainment software testing is a highly technical field requiring computing expertise, analytic competence, thick skin, and the ability to endure long hours."

Aged 10, I doubt anyone would be able to employ him. However, my advice is for your son to keep practising his gaming skills and if he's still keen (and good enough) when he's old enough to take a job, to apply for the position. The link gives more info.

My son works for Sony. According to him they do not let the games out to the public until they are ready to sell because of the problems with the games getting in the wrong hands (copied and passed on) before production. My son is a tester/interpreter/programmer for Sony that is what he says all companies do. Sorry.

Not at 10 he cant no!
There is such a job, highly desirable - wouldnt everyone want to get paid for playing games?!
You need to be degree educated and its great money, but not all its cracked up to be. It can be very repetitive and boring as basically you have to test for glitches and play the same sequence over and over again.
Do a google search for games testers for more info.

not if hes 10 no but yes it is possible and not as good as it sounds to be a games tester is very arduous work and a lengthy process in some instances you must test the same few frames or actions 50 times or more then write a report on your findings

tell your son that school is more important then testing games.... if he wants to test games then he still has to keep up with good grades... if the grades drop in school , then he stops testing games, when the grade go back up and stay up then he can go back to testing games

Probably not, but you can do beta tests. Just don't expect a pay check for it.
