I'm assuming you are looking to add weight to your frame. You should do two sets of 10 with very light weights before you start. This gets the blood flowing and get the muscles warmed up. After that you need to adjust the weight until you are able to do at least 4 reps but no more than 6 reps. Try to do at least 6 and no more than 9 sets between regular, incline, and decline bench press. Always give your muscles 48 hours to heal, this is the most important part.

Start out light...no more than 20 pounds on a side...do as many reps as you can....slowly, controlled reps, nothing fast here...spend 2X the time on the DOWN side as the up side. IF you do more than 15 of these for 2 sets, then up the weight until you find that place where you can do 12-15 reps in 2 sets. When you do not reach positive failure in that range, then up the weight again..that is how you build good, deep muscle mass and NOT injure yourself. Good luck PS...you have some impressive starting measurements for a man of your height...go for it, you could end up with a great looking body...but remember, it is about form and control, NOT how much weight you can fling around..
