Schools have uniforms so that the students will focus on learning and not on who's wearing what. As for tucking them in, it looks neat.

schools have uniforms so the kids will be dressed the same. some will not be dressed better or worse than others. my school didn't have uniforms and the better dressed ones looked down on the worse dressed kids and there were some fights over the way some were dressed. and uniforms are tucked in because they look better that way.

I think these people bring up valid points, but I have another idea. I think the biggest reason for dress codes, uniforms, etc....is that all you kids today are idiots. Is it cool to wear baggy pants and look thuggish? Is it cool to wear short, tight dresses and look like a whore? You bet it is. MTV has sold your generation a product and you guys bought it up. The thing is, when you go to get a job, they don't care how big of a thug or whore you are. Your high-school antics won't amount for a mountain of scat. They don't think your cute period. So when you have uniforms and the like, it's because people want you to be able to go through life not being a thug or a whore. At least that's what I think. And I think you should probably consider it good advice.

Schools have uniforms so that kids are focused on learning instead of fashion, some kids aren't picked on due to their lack of funds while others achieve power due to the name of the clothes they wear, and so that gang related altercations are minimized. The shirts need to be tucked in so that the kids are professional looking, for when visitors come into the school.

The main reason is to have everyone the same status. When a child cannot dress up in great clothes like her classmates she may feel depressed and certainly not an equal. Trying to show all students are equal. As for tucking in I do not know.

to make people more equal, to get rid of status clothing with little dogs or cats on them. Also to get rid of gang clothing and marking. Tuck in, one gang sign is how clothes are tucked in, prisoners do this all the time, one shirt tail out is one sign, or a pocket torn is another
