You are judging people too quickly to think that they do want to be your friends. I've changed to a new school every year I was in high school and had no problems making friends. I just let them come to me. When you walk down the hall, don't look at your feet when you're walking, hold your head up, don't be afraid to look someone in the eye. When you walk with your head down it gives people the impression that your stand-offish and do not want to meet anyone or uninterested. When you hold your head up, it gives the impression that you are a confident person and they'll start thinking that they want to meet you. And whatever you do, do not let anyone bully you. I let that happen once and the girl made my life miserable for a short while.
Don't worry about being the only one of your race in the school, people will accept you for the impression of yourself that you give. Having a quick smile, a happy heart, and a tolerance of haters will help. There's a lot of haters, but there's a lot there are just the opposite. Worry more about learning your lessons that you are being taught and keep up your study level. Good luck.

Just say hello and introduce yourself. Ask about the
teachers..which ones are cool, which ones to avoid,
etc. This will usually help open up conversations.
Talk about your old teachers and which ones were cool and which ones were nightmares. You'll make friends. Then get involved in some after school
activities. Before you know it you'll be laughing
and enjoying high school. Good luck. Here is a smile
for you. And a pat on the back.

It's only your assumption. if you continue feeling like that you WILL be left behind. Just wait a couple of week and involve in group activities and try to be friendly with people. you'll find lots of good friends. But of course you can be friend with all the people in your school. when you feel that just think if everybody was your race would you want to be friend with all of them?
Good luck ;-)

It was only your first day, so give it time! Just say Hi to people and introduce yourself. Just say Hi My name is ... I just moved here from another state. Do you know of anything to do around here for fun. That will get some people talking back to you. Take Care and Good Luck!! Don't be depressed! It's not good.

Try to make friends in your classes, and join some groups/clubs at school. Be yourself, anyone with brains will appreciate you as you are.
Good Luck and Best Wishes :)

Bring plenty of money to school so that you can pay the bullies not to beat you up.
