Right click on desktop
Select Properties
Go to the Desktop tab
Click on Customize Desktop
Check the box for Internet Explorer

Windows XP,
Right click on your Desktop, Click Properties, Click the Desktop tab, then Customize Desktop button at the bottom. Check the box for Internet Explorere, Apply, OK...done.

Go to the trash and hit restore.
Drag and drop it from the trash.
Right click & then click send to desktop
Start (bottom of your computer) and drag it from there.

Windows is set up that way where you can do several things from different locations.
