If theres a Nicotine De-addiction patch, why not an alcoholism de-addiction patch?

while there is not a patch (to my knowledge), there is a pill. it's called antabuse. taken on a regular basis, you cannot drink..if you do, you become violently ill. by the way, the nicotine patch doesn't "de-addict" you, it just helps you over the rough patch.

The nicotine patch works by supplying the drug nicotine through the skin. This method isn't possible for alcohol.

Nor does the nicotine patch break the addiction. It does, however, help protect from the other damage smoking causes.
