Do women really like to wear them or is it to make them taller? I asked a stripper that question once and she does it only for the dancing because they kill her feet. Fashion over pain?

When I was young, high heels were very fashionable and to wear flats was considered frumpy. I wore them almost all the time because they made me feel sexy and smart and ensured that I walked with some elegance. I used to walk in them and dance the night away in them, with no discomfort whatsever and my feet are none the worse for the experience. If I were to try to wear them now, however, I think it would be a different story. Flat or low shoes have been fashionable for such a long time, that my feet have become used to being held in that position and I think this is why many young women experience problems when they try to wear heels.

I don't mind wearing them. It's not just to make you taller. It also causes your calf muscles to flex, which shows them off. Makes your legs look longer. They go better with certain outfits. If you are petite, wearing heels can keep you from having to get your pants altered. In flats, pants that are too long can drag the ground. In heels, they don't. They don't really hurt, I guess it depends on the heel. I have a pair that kill my feet, but I don't wear them unless I have nothing else to wear

I used to wear 3-4" heels all the time. And I'm 5'8 without shoes. Now I just wear them for special occasions.

When I wear them it's because the outfit calls for heels, not flats. And yes some of them do hurt!

I wear them sometimes but they are difficult to walk in. They just look good in my opinion. However, I do wonder if I really DO look better, since I am probably walking kind of funny. I think men invented them so that they could catch women when they are chasing them. LOL

i have to wear them to work and after a while ur feet get used to it....but i wear them sometimes outside of work if they match an outfit better than regular shoes.......so yeah, sometimes fashion over pain

My GF has a really high arch and swears by heals and is in pain when she wears anything flat. Lucky me!

Men like women to wear high heels because it lengthens the leg and causes the bust and bum to stick out. Women wear them to please men.
