"Ignorant" means "lacking knowledge." Many tend to use the term as meaning "belligerent."
Ignorant people need to learn knowledge to better themselves - thereby enabling them to better the ones around them.
Belligerent people don't care about others and how they may better anyone... Ill-mannered folk, they are...
Between the 2 groups, belligerent people are the ones deserving of more pity.
Yes, there are a lot from both groups on here...

Everybody is ignorant about many things. Some more than the others. The problem is not many people have the thirst for knowledge. And yes it is a thrist you cannot force them to drink it. Even if you buy them a whole encyclopedia they may never look it up. Just because they lack that thirst.
Well I can deal with ignorant people, but the real problem comes when you have to deal with Half-learnt people and they adamently think their half knowledge is eternal.

Everyone will at some point be considered ignorant to at least one other person in life. The best thing to do is be tolerant of them and not to argue to the point of anger. If you know you are right about something and they think different, just let them think whatever they want and move on.. there is no point in arguing with a stubborn person unwilling to accept someone else's information about a subject.

What really disappoints me is the very low level of diction I see people using as well as atrocious spelling (for which a handy spell check exists just to the right above.) It appears that most people simply do not read and write much any more. It´s difficult to answer the more general ignorance issue.......

I think there are a lot of them here but I doubt they will ever change. People who are racist/ignorant are like pigs, they like to wallow in their own filth. So we just let them.
