It all depends on the school. I go to one, and it is a small school, K-12, with about 200 kids in all. It's not part of the school district so they don't get much money, and we all have to wear uniforms. I like it most of the time, because there are so few people here, so I don't necessarily have to put up with bimbos all day. Plus, it's so small that the class sizes are mainly 5-7 students on average. My largest class this year is 12 people. So that means that I get one on one help with the teachers most of the time. But that's just my school, and I think many charter schools are different.

Its a for-profit school run by a company, outside of a city/county school system.

The latest test results from a couple weeks ago show that on average, their students did slightly worse on standard tests than public school students in the same area.

its a school funded by a corporation. they are better than public schools because they give parents in urban settings an alternative to urban schools can select who enrolls, but usually fall short in most aftr school activites like sports or clubs.
