I have stuff I hide before my family comes over. Nothing bad, just things that my parents would disapprove of. I am over 40 but I still do this. Does anyone else do this?

I think that you are doing a good thing in hiding , or putting away things that might upset your parents. It's kind of like putting up knick-knacks when a child comes over. I mean who are you hurting by doing it? No one that i can tell...

It's fine to hide things your parents would disapprove of. After all, you want your visits to be pleasant, and you are entitled to do what you want because you are over forty. Continue to hide the things if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I hide my stash of booze when my parents come over. Other than that I don't really have anything to hide. I'm a boring person.

Sure I do it also, doesn't everybody to some extent? I live alone and I do that not just with my family but also with friends, not because they may disapprove but because some people may be so inclined to help themselves to whatever it is I have and they don't.

I used to hide all of my kitchen stuff... clock, mat, pictures, etc.
from my ex sister-in-law. She's such a copy cat and I didn't want her to do her kitchen in the same decor

No. It is my house, who are they to pass judgement on me? If they don't like it, they don't need to come over!

We all do. Porn, ashtrays, and junk like that get hidden from the folks.
