DOn't have a back garden but I do have a lakeside walk a few metres from my front door. The rarest bird I have seen is a single blue heron sitting in the trees above the lake. Absolutely stunning creature!!!

Well, seeing as how I live in Canada... the rarest bird I have ever seen for this area was when I saw a European Goldfinch... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Goldfinch
they do not live in North America so it was really rare to see one flying around in the Canadian wild with American Goldfinches.

Some other rarely SEEN birds(for my region) I have observed are American Bittern, Whip-poor-will, Caspian Tern, Bald Eagle, Brown Thrasher, Northern Hawk Owl, Solitary sandpiper....

i assume you're able to have added non-extinct. each and every person is idiots. i could desire to admit I even have in no way considered a puffin interior the wild. I have been given to work out kookaburras and kiwis while down below. observed the penguins final October. ;-) I even have in no way considered the blue-footed booby.

A couple of days ago a huge magpie came and perched on the balcony while I had the patio door open. It scared the bejesus out of the dog.

I've seen a young eagle from my garden, but not in it. I was pretty psyched to see pine siskins in California; when I lived in Arizona I'd see cool stuff like curve-billed thrashers, cactus wrens, and inca doves.

Kate Moss, she is proper rare mate, she owes me a fiver for putting a window through in my greenhouse due to a rather frenetic game of hopscotch
