sorry James there is no easy way to learn poker maybe you should get into on-line poker and play for dummy money at least you wont lose real money that way.watch some poker on TV too its all learning ,you need to learn the hands and amount of hands from one card to the top royal flush because there are so many different types of poker you will need to study them then decide which is best for you hope this is some help

There are plenty of guides to the rules: they are very simple. The basic probabilities are also essentialy simple. However, be warned that poker is essentially a game of bluff and of guessing what your opponents will do. The only way to learn these things is by lots of experience. It will cost you money because poker is a gambling game and you will come up against better players than yourself at least at first (and unless you are a genius always).
P.S. You also need to be able, or learn to be able, to control your emotions. I believe poker professionals will pick up "tells" from other people's behaviour very quickly.

I learnt to play the 2 different types of poker i know, by getting online and playing the free games of poker, i started on www.partypoker.com. its free and easy and gives you a good idea. Only downside to that is that you have to download the game.
