Hey guys, well I'm a third year at my university and I am going to be graduating this year (yay I could be done in 3 years instead of 4) with a degree in business admin. but I currently find myself wanting to become an orthopedic surgeon, the only problem is that if I choose to follow that, I will be behind immensly in my work and probably have to stay one or two years extra what do you think? Should I just stick to my business plan or should I follow my heart but then I don't know if I'm just scared because I'm graduating early, because I don't have want to have the kind of job where I'm bored and I always want to be on the go...need advice from anyone especially businesspeople or doctors

O.K. I'm not a business person or a doctor BUT I do know about following your heart as far as work is concerned! (I'm a journalist who has gone back to my first love -- art.)
Here are a couple of quotes I keep handy:

"Remember that your deepest inner longing, that which you want to do more than anything, is precisely what you have come into this life to do. Your best assurance of health is to DO IT."
-- Barbara Ann Brennan in Hands of Light

"If you ever get a single wish from a genie, wish that what you know you should do and what you really have fun doing become one and the same. Whatever grand vision you have...becomes attainable there."
-- Darrell Calkins, author and motivational speaker

You're the only one who can answer whether or not you're simply scared because you're graduating early.
As far as having an exciting, on-the-go job, they exist in both business and medicine (look at Doctors Without Borders, for example).
Going to medical school is going to take a chunk of change and time. But to refer back to those quotes, if you love it, then it's worth the investment. (It's not as if you decided at 60 that you wanted to do medicine!)
And don't forget, nothing is set in stone. If you start med school and discover it really isn't your thing after all, you have your business degree as a fall back. Or perhaps you'll be inspired to try something completely different!
Good luck

You should follow your heart. If this is something you feel you'd be good at and enjoy....follow those dreams! Our dreams are important to us and can lead us to success! So what you'd have to stay in school a couple more years or so, but in the long run, wouldn't it be worth it especially if it's your DREAM?
Everyone gets scared when graduating, that's just a new phase of your life to go through and you will be just fine. Just follow your heart, your dream. Get that book "The Business School" by Robert Kiyosaki (rich dad poor dad). He talks about following your dreams and becoming successful. He bases it mostly on network marketing but it's genuine for anything that you're following and wanting to get on the other side of the cash flow quadrant! Also there's a DVD called "The Secret". You can find this at http://www.thesecret.tv . It's an amazing DVD you can watch that will seriously change your life, the way you think consciously and unconsciously, change the way you say things do things, feel things etc. I recommend this to everyone in all walks of life! I have my own home based business and I've followed that DVD in changing my life for the better and reading that book I just recommended. You won't be sorry!
Good luck!

Never continue in a job you don't enjoy. If you're happy in what you're doing, you'll like yourself, you'll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you will have had more success than you could possibly have imagined.
