In the old days, it was a partnership. Men did outside work and brought home either money, farmed food, or hunted. Women had kids and raised them and took care of the home. It was hard for women to find living wage employment outside of the home. It took two people to accomplish the task of living. Now, this is less true. I'd say one good reason for marriage is to raise children in a more stable environment. Even if the mom works, that's twice the resources - so security for both the spouses and kids.

Love is a good reason; but as you probably know, romantic love fades to be replaced by either a deeper love, or contempt. The relationships replaced with contempt or anger will die.

In my opinion, if there are no kids, there really is no reason to get married, unless you just want to have it recorded with the gov't. After all, your taxes will get worse (in the U.S., anyway).

the whole experience is a big adventure. 1. You wake up with the person you love next to you. 2. you have someone you can lean on and share not only the good but the bad time. 3. you always have someone there you pick you up when you are down. and yes it is different than when one of your girls put you in a good mood. 4. He makes you laugh and feel good about yourself just because he loves you and not because he is only trying to get in your pants. 5. hugs and kisses 24/7 for no reason. 6. having some to grow old with ,,,,,,,,need any more........hope it helps.

You've got it wrong, I didn't marry for any of your reasons, I married because I knew 100% that I had met the love of my life, I didn't need a big wedding ( infact we had just 2 guests ) to prove it to anyone, we have often struggled financially but the love is always there deeper than anything imaginable. Marriage is the ultimate commitment and is for life.

I can't give you five, but I will give reason why get married. well - because of love of course. And when you have love, you have to set for commitment to not break it. If you love someone, you are willing to be with this person, and you will do anything, just like getting married, to be bond with legal certificate.Unless you are not being serious about it, then why get married, right? Get married if you are sure with your partner, and you know tht you'll be together in the long run. Don't get married because you are happy being with your partner, but because you love your partner- really trully love.

I don't understand it, except for it may be fun. I think it's just a formality...seriously, it doesn't change a thing. You don't love the person more or anything. I think that marriage is a good way to ruin a great relationship...you get too comfortable with echother and may get bored of it, or feel that you're stuck with them forever, and most people don't liket that feeling. See?!

good question......
the term using LOGIC is not an appropriate term for marriage....
Marriage is an societal norm ..basically the meaning of marriage is bond between your partner to take care & support through out you life.
Attractiveness, money & sex are definetly not the major part of marrige.
As per me below are the best "not reason" but facts which leads to happy marriage
1)care
2)love
3)security
4)support --not in terms of money
5)all of above is resposibility,

THE LOGIC OF MARRIAGE IS TO SEE IF A SPOUSE CANBE FAITHFUL TO ANOTHER PERSON AND IF THEY CAN THAT IS MAINLY WHY PEOPLE GET MARRIED.

I think the bible says something about you shouldn't marry, but if you can't keep it in your pants go ahead and get married.
