Only the Stadium in Munich cost about 350.000.000€, so Germany lost very much money for the WC, but it was worth it ;)

I'm not sure the the host country makes a huge profit from the World Cup. They obviously get high numbers in tourists, but keep in mind all the renovations they made on old stadiums and all the new stadiums they erected. I would say that Germany LOST money from hosting the World Cup.

Whatever they earn they would be more happy as they can win the world cup after loosing everything
