The most I've taken was eight (twenty-four hours per week) but I usually take a normal courseload, which is five classes per week at three hours per class. I try to structure my schedule so I have either Monday or Friday off school.

I take 12 hours a semester. 12 hours is considered full time, and that's about all I can take considering I work 40 hours a week. All of my classes are online.

3 or 4 classes because I work full time during the day and only have time to go to class in the evenings.

When I was an undergraduate, I took six 3-credit classes per semester. Most people took five.

At many schools, the average is four (sometimes four credit classes).

Check with your department to see what they suggest.

'full time' is supposed to be something like 12-14 hours, but that left me bored. I usually took about 20.
