i mean...i know what, just how much of what? he doesn't seem to want to eat, really. maybe it's just because he's so interested in things he gets distracted. he's certainly not underweight but it seems like he used to eat more. anyway, what's normal for this age?

My daughter is also 8 months she eats 2 Gerber number 2's at lunch and 2 number 2s at dinner with a finger cookie. And she has bottles in between. Kids do go through growing spurts and don't eat as much at times as long as he isn't losing weight and he is getting his bottle he should be OK. Best of luck

I have an 8 month old son and he usually eats 1 Gerber 2nd Food for breakfast, 1 or 2 for lunch and 1 or 2 for dinner, with bottles in between. Some days he eats more, and other days he eats less. It just varies. He gets distracted easily too, I think all 8 month olds do! There's just too much they could be up doing, instead of sitting down to eat. As long as he isn't losing weight, he's fine. Good luck!

If he's still maintaining a healthy weight, try not to worry too much. But take him to his pediatrician if you are truly concerned. In the meantime, finger food favorites are diced fruits and veggies. Even a grilled cheese sandwich cut into very small pieces. At 8 months old, they are moving into eating table foods soon. If he's teething that is normal as well. And babies love to be interactive in the world around them! He'll eat when he's hungry, but if it truly becomes a problem take him to the doctor. Best of luck!

The most importatant thing to remember is that breastmilk or formula is supposed to be the main food source for the first year. Everything else is complimentary and just to get them used to the idea of food. It's recommended to feed babies milk first and then top them up with solid food if they're still hungry. At 8 months my son was getting baby cereal in the morning and fruit or veggies in the evening, not a lot, but maybe 2 or 3 tablespoons. I prefered to make his food myself also. I would give him whatever we were having. ie. steamed broccoli mushed up, yams, banana, carrots mashed up etc. I started pureed meat at around 10 months. Hope this helps God Bless

My daughter is 7 months and so far is just breastfeeding. I've tried rice cereal several times but she's not interested. Just remember to listen to your baby and make sure 75% of their diet is breastmilk or formula for the first year. Here's a good website that tells you how much milk / solid food they should be getting for what age.

I think as long as he still gaining weight normally, you don't need to worry about it. Try some different food maybe he will interest again.

Let the baby tell you how much he wants to eat. Don't force food on him. They'll eat if they are hungry. They stop when they are not hungry anymore.
