In the periodic table, elements in the same column tend to have similar characteristics, as long as they are the same type of material (metal or nonmetal). Lead is in the same column as Tin, Germanium, Silicon and Carbon. Silicon and Carbon are nonmetals, so they will not be very similar to Lead. But Tin and Germanium are both metals, so you can expect them to have similar characteristics. They also have a smaller atomic number, meaning they will be lighter.

Lead is fairly unique. Try copper, it has similar electrical properties and is similar in hardness to lead (lead is softer however) and is lighter as well.
Oops. I forgot about Sn. Tin is very similar to lead and mixes and forms intermetallics with it as well. My bad!!
