Yes, I can be guilty of that, but I know that I'm wrong. How about people who think that they are right? I believe that everyone, no matter what their education level, have a right to their opinion! People should understand that along with higher education comes life experience which is another kind of education!

People resort to insults when they cant support there postion by logic. Basically when they resort to insults they have lost the debate

I have the right to insult anyone for any reason I choose. It falls under "Freedom of Speech", and I exercise it quite frequently. It's your right and choice to be offended, laugh, and/or throw an insult back. Of course, most of the time it's just because it's funny, and I never apologize for humor, and it's just for a good laugh. However, I choose to exercise caution when I feel the recipient of the insult is too frail to take it (I usually don't want to make people cry, but sometimes they do deserve it) or when the recipient looks like they may get violent. They don't have the right to respond with violence, but that usually doesn't stop it.

Most people think their opinion is based on fact, so when you insult someone on their opinion, they believe 1) you are stupid. and 2) you don't understand reason and 3) you don't respect their ability to share the truth and fact with you, couched in their own golden wisdom...
The better course of action is always to say something like "Thanks for your opinion, I knew I could count on you for a great answer" and let it go. If you offer no resistance, they will give up trying to teach you, they will think you're brilliant for seeing how smart they are, and they will LIKE you.
Its an old trick, but it always works

BTW. The above quote "... I will defend your right to say it" is from Voltaire

Absolutely NOT!! Opinions are like noses (being politically correct) everybody has one and they are all different. But then I don't believe you ever have the right to insult someone. I was taught that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Yes. Life experience can beat education. If you or anyone has to insult someone to get their point across, then you're just afraid you dont have a good point.

Yes -- they do have the right to insult someone. However, they do not have the obligation to do so -- and often doing it is bad manners. The insulted person has the right to complain, argue or insult back.

Some opinions are wrong, for example certain stereotypes should not be tolerated.
for example:
I won't mind at all if you insult nazis, they are NOT entitled to their opinion, because it is WRONG.

if your opinion happens to be that someone else is stupid or a jackass, and they feel insulted when you use your free speach to say that, then it probably means that you are right.

Why do you figure they are insulting you if they do not have the same opinion as you do????Are you trying to say that they should have the same opinion and view as what you do ???? Or they now are insulting you because there view and opinion is different!!!!!
