They say that when you are induced your chances of having a c-section go up. Just wondering how many people out there were induced and then had to have a c-section?
I was close twice, but my doctor was very proactive and was able to avoid it.

I'm no expert, but I was induced with all three of my girls, and at no time was I ever a candidate for a c-section. Often times the reason you have a c-section is because the labor is taking too long, or the mother's birth canal is not wide enough for the baby to pass through. I have wide hipbones, so that was not a problem. My babies were not breech, either, which can be an indicator for a c-section.

With 20 years of surgery behind me, I have to let you know that if you are induced into labor, it doesn't mean that your chances go up for having a "Cesarean Section". This type of procedure is done mostly because the life of the child, and/or mothers life is in danger. My wife was induced, and didn't have a "Cesarean Section", and during my career, I can't even begin to count the number of women who have been induced, and didn't have to have this procedure performed. The chances of not having the procedure performed after being induced, far outweigh the chances of having it done. Hope this helps.

I had c-section after being in natural labor for 4 hours. It was my decision to have the procedure because of health reasons.
