I've never been that serious about the whole marraige thing but the thought has crossed my mind. The only trouble is I am still single and haven't got a bf. I broke with my ex about 5 months ago. Help! Why am I even thinking I want marraige?

Of course the thought has crossed your mind - probably more than once. Why shouldn't it? Listen - there's no trouble about being single - unless it really is what you don't want to be. Is it because you're wondering what people are thinking about you?
The fact that you broke with your ex 5 months ago doesn't mean you necessarily have to start going down the same road again. But - if the relationship with him was good - maybe you want to have more of the same with hopefully a better outcome. The fact you're thinking about marriage means maybe that you're getting anxious that if you wait too long before getting fixed up you might miss the boat. I don't know how old you are - or how long your relationship lasted - but I think the main thing is - if and when you meet another guy who feels right - just enjoy lots of fun times and see where it takes you -maybe down the aisle -maybe not. Marriage isn't the be all of everything!

There's nothing wrong with marriage - or with staying single, for that matter. Think of yourself 10, 20 years from now - is it easier to imagine life alone, or with a partner? If you feel you might want a long-term partner, better start looking now.

Because when you get to a certain stage in your life, it tends to become a natural thing to want to settle down + babies etc.
