At the end of The Green Berets, he says to the little Vietnamese orphan boy: "You're what this is all about!" A great moment in propaganda.

There are 2 scenes from "The Searchers"
1. When he picks up Natalie Wood and says"Let's go home Debbie."
2. The end of the movie when he is standing in doorway and the door closes. Great Moment!

"Come and see a fat old man sometime" at the end of True Grit and the ending of The Searchers. John Wayne was the best..

hmmm...tough one.
1st moment..McClintock..at the end of the movie tosses his hat onto the weather vane on the roof..
2nd...and aparently a very popular one...fight scene in the Quiet Man.
3rd..I like El Dorado with James Caan...one of my favorite scenes where Mississippi "James Caan" jumps under the horse and later on finds out from John Wayne "Cole Thorton" and J.B. (Robert Mitchum i think) that it was a crazy move because he could have gotten trampled.

The end of Rooster Cogburn when Katherin Hepburn says "you are a credit the male race"
The end of True Grit when he jumps the three rail fence.
The Quiet Man's fight scene.
And I think it was Big Jake when the running gag was "I thought you were dead"

Either the Shootist near the beginning where he shoots (non fatally) the guy trying to rob him and suggests he changes jobs
Or True grit where he is riding with the rifles in his hands and the reins in his mouth "fill your hands etc"

The last frame of "The Searchers" He walks out of the house, framed by the door of a house filled with harmony, marital bliss and peace, into the world of the wild west, full of violence, adventure, beauty, terror and pain.
