It all depends on the situation how the hate groups like the
KKK or neo-Nazis behave. I think, if they behave very rowdy
and violent in nature, the logical choice is to ignore and
don't confront them, otherwise the consequences will be
unpleasant. It's not fearing them, but just avoiding an
unwarranted confrontation which will turn ugly and leads to
nowhere. Let the police or local authorities take care of the
situation.

They come to my college town, personally I avoid people who spew hate, I think if they are ignored then they will probibly not return. They are holding their demonstrations to get publicity and to attract , not only people with the same closed minded views but also to attract those who do not agree. It becomes a shouting match and the news gets involved.
Think about it: If you had a parade for any reason, and no one showed up except the people in the parade would you have another one next year? Maybe when no one listens they will go away!

I have never known confrontation to solve any problem. It is better to let them demonstrate than to conspire in secret. As long as they demonstrate, they are visible and you know they are there. It is underground hate groups that are dangerous.
There are a lot of demonstrations that are offensive to thousands of people.
For instance flying an upside down American Flag under a Mexican flag should be offensive to every real American, but they do it and they get away with it. Every Democrat but one voted to give illegal aliens Social Security. Personally I cannot see the reasoning behind the entire episode.
Yes! it is best to let them demonstrate in the open, no matter how offensive you may find them.

I think ignoring them would be the best- but- if you must confront them arm yourself with intelligent information. i.e. Ask them why they obey traffic lights. Whatever answer they give will be meaningless once you point out that traffic lights were invented by Garrett Morgan- the son of released slaves. Ask them if they have gas masks for when Iran nukes us. Whatever answer they give will be meaningless once you point out that gas masks were invented by Garrett Morgan- the son of released slaves.

You could have fun armed with a bunch of facts like this. Take a video camera and film their ignorance and post it so we all can see and have a good laugh at THEIR expense!!!!
Have a great day!!!

I think it is best to ignore them. They are looking to draw attention to themselves. If you put together a counter-demonstration, it may become more publicized and they win.

When you feel it's gone too far, get a large counter-demonstration put together.

Ignore them is probably best. Police will be there to make sure they don't get violent. Seems like that is the only risk. They have the right to free speech like everyone else, regardless if it is sane or not.
