I don't have either but want to caution you on one thing. If you plan to have children in the future you want to avoid having a tattoo on your lower back. Epidurals are administered in that area and most anesthesiologists will not give an epidural to anyone with a tattoo on their lower back. In case you're not familiar with the term epidural, it's how pain killers are administered for women in labor. Epidurals are sometimes also used to administer pain killers during major surgeries.

I got my first tattoo on my lower back. It's an aqua colored lotus flower. Whatever you do, don't get anything cheesey, like fairies, mermaids, frogs, geckos, a boys name (God forbid!) etc. Work with the tattoo artist. Most artists won't mind if you want them to help you design your own personal tattoo. I had a belly button piercing for a long time also, but one day I noticed it fell out and the barbell wouldn't go back through it. It only was an hour and it closed!... so now I have this lame scar. Sucks!!

Just make sure its a tattoo that you really want, and take your time deciding where you want to put it. And try to make your own design. I always wait at least a few months before I ever get one, that way I have no doubts.
Pierced belly buttons are sexy!! Good choice.

If you have to ask what kind of tattoo to get then you are not ready for a tattoo... I could tell you to get a monkey dancing with a bunch of bananas in a conga line... Tattoos are forever and are not something to be decided my strangers... just by yourself... I would suggest waiting until your piercing heals before you decide to get this tattoo just in case you have to lay on your stomach... Im personally not into the belly button piercing or the tramp stamp tattoos... but if you are then go for it... after YOU decide what you want to get,,,

Belly button piercings aren't so hot anymore...a bit nineties if you ask me... Tattoo's are the way forth BUT make sure you really really want one - it's a BIG commitment...and take the time to pick a design you really love. It;s best to go for a consultation with the tattooist (ask friends for recommendations) and then you can be sure that you're getting something you really love.

Don't ask anyone else for that kind of advice, it is your body do what you want to it, just remember you can take the belly button ring out, the tattoo will remain their unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to have it removed and have a hitious scar there for ever.... Take your time and think about it... REALLY think about it. I don't mean to sound mean or rude... but it's a life time you have to live with it and fads change quickly!!!

A tattoo on your lower back is as bad as barbed wire on the arm .
If you want to get one , cool , just be original not the same as everyone else .
