I think its hilarious. I love watching people get their panties in twist over nothing.

Its a ratings bonanza. People will be tuning in just to see what the uproar is all about--especially people who haven't watched before. This format also gives non-viewers a reason to keep watching--to bash it, report on the social experiment, etc....but the point is, they'll keep watching and talking about it and getting more people to either tune in or keep tuning in.The teams probably won't get merged until the fan faves are identified, and there may be some surprises there.
Also remember how Big Brother tried to keep pushing the fact that Kaysar is Iraqi-American--I think he became a fan fave despite it, not because of it.
Who knows, maybe the best scenario is to realize that after awhile, race really doesn't matter--especially when its about an INDIVIDUAL winning the million....

Okay, first people were complaining that there were more white people on the show than other races. So, to stop that and justify that the show isn't against any race, they decide to do this show with 4 sets of races. Yes, I think it is blown way out of proportion, what do people want anyways? The show is only doing what they feel is necessary to stop the complaining. Some people are not happy unless they complain don't matter what the issue is. I will watch it unless it gets boring then I will watch something else.

I haven't watched Survivor since the very first season because I think a lot of the intrigue was lost after people figured out "how to play the game." Personally, I think that this format will make things more interesting and I will be more likely to watch. It is a little risky by CBS, especially for all the flak they have been receiving, but it won't be presenting any issues or stereotypes that aren't presented in real life. After all, it is supposed to be reality television right?

It's doing exactly what it was designed to do--get people to talk so they'll want to watch and the ratings will go up. Nothing but a clever marketing ploy. Besides, everyone who's in it agreed to be separated by race.

from the last two season's experiences they won't merge them that quickly.
I think it's a great idea to break them off in races,, I think that it gives everyone a fair chance.. in the past the players have broken off into races anyway,, so this gives them a fair numbers game.
they have done everything else from gender to age why not by race.

I totally agree. Race against Race? I think that's just the hook. After two episodes, they will probably just merge all the teams and redivide them.

I understand that Survivor is running out of fresh ideas, but this one is a stinker! Why didn't they put family members in different tribes?Mothers, fathers, nieces, and nephews. That would have been more interesting and less contreversial.I'm still going to check it out.

I think they are pushing peoples buttons for ratings. If they get a big controversy for it, then more people will watch.
