If you can stay alone, do it and Incorporate yourself. Statistics are real bad for two. Partners last an average of 5 years and split. Brothers even worse, they last 2 years and split. You lose profits, etc. and you're back alone anyway. The only other alternative would be to be the sole owner and hire people. Be a small Company. But you just need some counsel now. You don't need a partner. Trust me. Been there, done that.

Andrew,
I own my web design business and have been doing it since 2000. I currently have two full time employees, but until a few months ago I had three. The one who is no longer with me was my "Director of Business Development". I had gotten to the point in my business where I felt like I needed to have someone go out and market for me ... to be the 'face of the business' in networking groups, client meetings, etc. She worked for me for almost two years and while she was a great person, those two years are the only years my business didn't grow in gross sales. It was uncanny. What I learned from this is that no one can represent your business like you can, simply because no one BELIEVES in your business like you do. If your business has grown to the point that you feel like you need help, consider hiring someone to assist you with the basic design or maintenance work on a part-time basis. This will free up your time so YOU can go out and sell your business, do the appropriate research on setting your prices, and build your brand locally (or even nationally).
