I'm sure your Doctor will help you out on this. You need to be very insistant and explain the situation. As a plan B, you need to start making friends with you neighbors and find a church so you can develop an extended family. You are going to need a lot of support after your baby comes and not just that first weekend. Why couldn't your husband take advantage of the "family medical leave act" Even though he is new, his job has to allow him to tack up to 12 weeks off to bond with the baby and help Mommy out. It is a law--they just done have to pay him, so if you can't afford all that time, maybe a week or two.

You can ask and give your dr. your reasons, but if the baby isn't ready, then the baby isn't ready. There are good reasons to induce and good reasons not to. If the baby looks like it will be fine, then there shouldn't be a problem but some babies take longer than others. There are also risks with inducing, and there are no guarantees that the baby will come soon even with induction, there is also a higher chance you will need a ciscarian. If you talk to your dr. about the risks and everything that is involved you should be able to make the best decision, but by all means you should ask.

It's worth a try---my neice was induced so her doctor could go on vacation. Didn't work though because they took her in on Friday at 6:00pm and she didn't have the baby until 1:15pm on Sunday afternoon. Induction may help but that baby won't necessarily come out until its ready.

Sure, ask. He/she might do it since there are circumstances at home. It's not like you are just "tired of being pregnant"

The ACOG policy statement discourages elective induction PRIOR to 39 weeks, but it's OK after 39 weeks.

good luck

A girl at work just got induced at, I believe, 38 weeks for partically the same reason as you. I don't see why it wouldn't be a problem with your doctor.

You can ask. It would depend on your doctors view on induced labor, your health etc. But it nevers hurts to ask.

it does not hurt to ask it all depends on your doctor though. I have seen some that will say OK quick and then some that hum around and then says will let's wait and see what happens. Yet, if NEVER hurts to ask! BEST WISHES!

You can ask. I asked mine and he said no then after having her he said he should have listened to me. I almost had to have a c-section because she was so big. Its worth a try and some dr.'s will listen.
