No I havn't met my "soul mate" and I'm not in this situation, just was wondering how people would handle it if they met the person they feel like the are supposed to be with, and can't...where does that leave you and them?

Go with the soulmate. If you don't, you'll always be unhappy.

Most likely you have not found your true soul mate; for if you are married and or he is or you both are? Maybe right now it feels like they are your soul mate, yet what is wrong with your current relationship? It seems there is trouble with your current marriage and you need to deal with it first. I feel very sad for you and sorry love.. Unless your both are free and divorced, otherwise it's not a path personally I would feel good about going down. For all I see is sadness and hurt down this road if you follow it. It does not just affect you it affect many other people as well.

Falling for somebody else and using the excuse soul mate is nothing but a cop out.

If you have met somebody at work or wherever and want to be with them, then get a divorce before you pursue it any further.

If that's not it, I would suggest you quit falling for people over the Internet.

Then you have quite a decision to make. Do you honour your wedding vows? Why did you marry your partner? did you think that they were your soulmate when you married them? People can only ever have one soul mate. One person who totally completes you. This being said, why did you settle and not wait to find your soul mate? And since you did settle, why does the person you settled for deserve to be hurt now that you realise your mistake?

Well, I will say that I agree with the person who wrote that people come into your life for a reason. If you are both married, not very happily, but have kept it platonic so far, this is a not an easy road to travel. The saying goes, "How does it feel to want?" Well, not very good. Ask me, I know!
For me, I seem to be in the same boat, but will end one chapter before I begin another. It's the only right thing to do.
My emotions are written all over my face, so I wouldn't be a good cheater! I wish you the best, but think wisely before choosing!

there is no such thing as "soul mates"....we are capable of loving and relating to many people. Its the level of commitment two parties have to each other that makes or breaks a relationship. "Soul mates" is about as relevant as believing in astrology and horoscopes........so stupid.

Stop believing in "soul mates" and realise that it's just a good chemical attraction.

I think we meet multiple soulmates in our lives, not just one. People come into our lives all for different reasons, but all with the purpose of being part of our divine path. I also believe that everyone we meet in this life, we have had dealings with in previous lives.
