The house is playing upon the odds of probability. Figuring the odds of probability is based upon a statistical calculation. By knowing the amount of odds within the statistics for how many cards are being played, someone knows what comes next. Actually, the house stands on 17. In some casinos, the house hits on a soft 17 (ace-6 for ex). It increases the odds for the house and eliminates any choice for the dealer.

yes it's a calculated thing.Spanish blackjack(no tens)or 21 ,the dealer stands on either hard seventeen or soft eighteen.Blackjack stands on hard or soft seventeen.Spanish blackjack is different because all the tens are removed which changes the odds, there fore another card is taken on soft seventeen as the odds for improvement are greater.
