The Ozarks are beautiful. Call for a free state vacation guide-contact their Chamber of Commerce in Branson or the Missouri Tourism Board.

There is Silver Dollar City it is an amusement park but they have tons of the 1800 type shops that are very interesting. Christmas time it is way awesome because they light the whole place up. If you are driving around and you see an Andy's they have awesome custard (turtle sundaes are the best). The orginal Bass Pro Shop is down there and Lamberts is the rage on the Food Network for a restuarant to eat at - Some very interesting caves to go into - especially on hot days and there are sign most places - there is also tubing down the water which is also fun - whew!

Well, there is St. Louis, but if you're not looking for a big city, you could go past St. Louis into Hermann. It's a small German community with tons of small wineries and shops. There are a cluster of little towns in that area with lots of wineries and bed & breakfasts. Went there last summer, very laid back and enjoyable.

Bass Pro Shops is really cool if you're into that kind of thing. It's not just a store, they have a really awesome museum, and a big aquarium (I'm talking huge!) Plus it is just a really good store. The inside is decorated really nicely.

You could always come up north to Northern Missouri. There is kansas city which has casino's and great bbq,
